Scaling Mobile Performance Testing with Real Devices and Real Conditions
Keynote by Q-LEAP: Scaling Mobile Performance Testing with Real Devices and Real Conditions
Presented by Julien Desmulier.
Performance testing on mobile applications goes far beyond running automated scripts. In some cases, achieving realistic results requires controlling the physical positioning of devices, managing network conditions, and ensuring parallel execution across diverse environments. In this talk, I share the challenges and insights gained from a real-world performance testing project where these constraints played a critical role in the validity of the tests. We will explore how Selenium, Appium, and AWS Device Farm were combined to create a scalable, automated, and repeatable performance testing pipeline, and why alternative solutions—including on-site device farms—were evaluated but ultimately discarded.
Whether you are a QA engineer, test architect, or mobile developer, this talk provides actionable strategies to design performance tests that truly represent how your users experience your mobile app.

Advanced Software Testing of Cyber-physical Systems
Keynote by Université de Luxembourg: Advanced Software Testing of Cyber-physical Systems
Presented by Prof. Domenico Bianculli & Prof. Fabrizio Pastore & Dr. Claudio Mandrioli
Software for safety- and mission-critical systems must be accurately verified to prevent hazards and failures in the field.
This talk presents methods for automatically generating test oracles for cyber-physical systems, assessing the coverage of software test suites, and guiding the generation of missing test cases. It also reports on the application of these methods within research projects conducted in collaboration with industrial partners in the space domain.

Leveraging AI and Data Virtualization for QA in ERP Implementations
Keynote: Leveraging AI and Data Virtualization for QA in ERP Implementations.
Presented by Dean Bodart, SQAI-Suite (NSI Partner)
This session explores the evolving role of AI in software testing, with a particular focus on ERP implementations and migrations. Led by an experienced quality and test manager, the discussion examines the opportunities and limitations of AI in enhancing quality assurance processes within complex ERP environments, drawing on practical experience. The diversity of business scenarios and ERP solutions makes ensuring quality during such transitions particularly challenging.
A practical example illustrates how AI-driven solutions can automate the generation of contextually appropriate test cases. This approach helps reduce repetitive tasks and improve consistency in test coverage.
The session also addresses the critical issue of test data. The discussion covers a progression from synthetic to semi-synthetic datasets, and ultimately to virtualized databases, which can provide efficiency and scalability benefits depending on the context.
Finally, the session emphasizes that human expertise remains essential. Functional test engineers, automation specialists, and QA managers continue to play a central role in project success. AI is presented as a complementary tool, supporting experienced professionals rather than replacing them.

How Synthetic Data Is Changing the Testing Game
Keynote: How Synthetic Data Is Changing the Testing Game
Presented by Silvia Martina & Bruno Pacheco, LNDS.
Testing software with real data often raises challenges around privacy, compliance, and accessibility. This keynote explores how synthetic data is revolutionizing testing practices by providing safe, scalable, and realistic alternatives. We’ll start by introducing the concept of data as a product — highlighting the importance of quality and preparation for effective testing. Then, we’ll dive into synthetic data: what it is, its benefits, and how it enables robust testing environments without compromising security. Through a practical use case featuring open-source tools like the Synthetic Data Factory Generator, you’ll see how synthetic data can accelerate innovation. Finally, we’ll share resources available in Luxembourg, including repositories and the Open Data Platform, to help you get started. Join us to discover why synthetic data is becoming a cornerstone of modern software testing and quality assurance.
